Aging With Beauty

Children are bursting with health. Their skin shines, they are light on their feet, and they are happy.  They are comfortable inside their bodies, in tune with what they want, and excited about life.

We are all still children, but we have ‘grown up’ and become hardened. The best is to become responsible and wise, but stay young at heart and open to love.

As we age we take on more stress and abuse our bodies with processed foods every day. After eating this way for 10,000 days, and not drinking enough water, we start aging.

Many today believe you become healthy by eating certain healthy foods. But I think it is much simpler than that.  We just have to get out of our own way and let physical health do it’s thing. Do you have any idea how important it is to drink clean water every day? Just by being hydrated, and keeping ourselves ‘juicy’ like when we were children, we are doing most of the work, which is no work at all. In fact it’s the opposite of work! All we have to do is let ourselves stay young and supple, and let our energy, or ‘chi’, keep flowing like it once did.

Oxygen keeps us young, so eating at least half your diet raw will bring in more oxygen to your body which in turn makes you beautiful.  Yoga is another way to oxygenate the body.  Yoga is great because you do not need any expensive equipment and you become strong, full of clean air, and flexible at the same time.   It is also like meditation in the sense that all you have to do it stop thinking the discordant thoughts for a little bit so that you can clear your head and work more efficiently.

Flax, olive, and sesame oil should not be heated because they are very sensitive.  Heating them creates free radicals, which not only is bad for your body, but accelerates aging.  Try to eat your unsaturated vegetable oils raw as much as possible. It is best to cook with saturated fats like butter or coconut oil, because they can handle the cooking process.  By the way, not all saturated fats are bad.  Coconut oil in its unprocessed form is wonderful for you!

Since water isn’t a money maker for the consumer industry, it is not pushed on us, yet it is the single most important thing for your health. Our bodies are made up of mostly water. This is why I think health is free. The most crucial things you need do not cost much at all.   Water is the basis of life, and all our food too.  You can grow sprouts for salad, make herbal iced teas, sprouted bread, steamed greens, or soup.  It is not only what you eat, but how much you allow energy to flow through your body, and how well hydrated and oxygenated you are.

Aging has such bad connotations.  People don’t want to grow old.  But it does not have to be this way. In fact if you treat yourself well, you will grow into a mature beauty and appreciate how you look until 120!  Life keeps getting better.  That’s my motto.
