Eating for Health and Beauty

 

By now, everybody knows what Hippocrates said.  ” Let your food be your medicine”.   Now, taking that one step further, I will add on to that and I quote myself. “Let your food be your cosmetics and household cleaning products.”

 

All of these foods can be used for so many different things. For example, lemon is a condiment for food, a medicine, a cleaner, a cosmetic, and fist aid antiseptic. Coconut oil is not only edible, but wearable, and the only moisturizer I use. I also dodged a root canal by swishing with a tablespoon of it every morning , completely dissolving all symptoms. It is a process called oil pulling. Wheat grass is not only the ultimate multi-vitamin of all time, but also makes a great facial mask, and can be used as a first aid antiseptic and disinfectant. Baking soda is not only for making cakes rise, but also for cleaning just about anything from oily dishes, to your teeth and laundry.

Beauty starts on the inside. Its very simple! Foods that promote good health also promote beauty. Good food, clean water, breathing fresh air, and exercise.  Through these we become healthy and radiant. Because the real beauty came from God, so to be flowing with health is a reflection of Him. So here are just a few examples of amazing foods to eat on a daily basis, and what they can do for you.

Extra Virgin Cold Pressed Olive Oil

We already know it reduces cholesterol, but did you know it stimulates metabolism, satisfies you so you eat less,protects red blood cells,and keeps you healthy until your old age? It is praised for being woman’s beauty secret, by eating it and using it externally; such as moisturizer for skin, lips, oiling hair, or massage oil. Olive oil can be used instead of vegetable oil or margarine for cooking and baking. Truly good olive oil is like gold and the best is simply eating it raw with your food.

Unrefined, Raw Coconut Oil

This is an overall great oil for beauty, and health. It is good for the heart, is a great source of energy, and it is anti-bacterial! In fact,eating it will actually promote weight loss! Externally it may be used on skin and hair, keeping your skin smooth and young, and promoting outward radiance. Coconut oil is my one and only cosmetic and moisturizer. I put it on my face every day and I never ever get pimples! It can be heated up to 350 degrees without transforming into free radicals, so is a wonderful oil to bake with, and spread some on your baked sweet potatoes, or add to your soup.

Flax Seed or Fax oil

This nutrient packed power-food is a great source of omega 3 fatty acid, antioxidants, and high in fiber. The healthiest, most overlooked seed does everything from fighting cancer, lowering cholesterol, aiding in constipation.  It is good for those with diabetes ,heart disease, and even depression.  Glowing health is the best beauty remedy.

Lemon

Lemon is a strong antibacterial, anti carcinogenic, antiviral, and antiseptic. It’s immune boosting, cleansing, acts as a digestive aid, promotes weight loss, fights free radicals, colds, and throat infections. It does everything from purify blood , fight disease and cancer to serve as my personal favorite thing to use for my salads and dips. By drinking lemonade with raw honey or maple syrup, your skin will look better with an overall glow.  Externally, you may use lemon for highlighting hair, removing black heads, freshening breathe, and cleaning minor scrapes and wounds. Those are just a few of the uses. There are 200 more!

Apple Cider Vinegar

This crucial household item can be used to detox the body, cure allergies, balance ph level,promote weight loss, kill candida and infections, populate stomach with friendly flora, clear acne, and lower cholesterol and high blood pressure. It is a serious medicine as it cleans the liver, kidneys, and gall bladder. It may also be used externally for cleaning different household items.

Raw Honey

Besides for being a great sweetener, honey is loaded with vitamins minerals and nutrients. It contains antioxidants, and prevents different types of diseases.  Also, like lemon, it is anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-septic, anti- fungal and anti inflammatory. Can be used to treat bronchial infections, and to soothe sore throats. It may  be used externally for face, hair, and body.  But many are highly allergic to raw honey, so find out before eating it!

Almonds

I live off of almond milk.  This is made from soaking the almonds first, which removes the enzyme inhibitors, making the nuts more easy to digest and absorb.  Almonds would be the 8th species of Israel, if there were an 8th species.   They contain proteins, omega 3 fatty acids, and antioxidants. Full of vitamin E, which promotes glowing skin, hair, and nails. Calcium, which strengthens bones. Potassium, Great for your blood,heart, and brain.  They promote weight loss, combats constipation, and are good for pregnant women and a healthy delivery. Almond oil may be used for cosmetic purposes on hands, face, and hair.

Dates

This special fruit of Israel is full of vitamins, minerals,and  iron.  Eating  dates  helps prevent constipation, great for teeth, heart, and digestive system. The best part about it is its a natural sweetener, perfect to sweeten almond milk. Also, it is good for skin and hair.

Sprouted Wheat

A whole world apart from wheat flour. Sprouting wheat brings out all the nutrition in dormant grains. The sprouting process releases enzyme inhibitors which make it easier to digest, and then multiplies the vitamin and mineral levels up to 400%! Compared to regular flour, it has lower gluten levels and is higher in protein. The true potential of the grain comes out and its the difference between being asleep and being awake.

Sprouting Seeds

Sprouts are the number one living food, alive until the moment you eat them.  They are bursting with life, nutrition, and enzymes.  They cost almost nothing, and they are so easy to sprout.  You can eat them on salad, or in a sandwich.  I vote sprouts number one super food of all time!

 

If we want outward beauty we need to start from the inside. By eating simple, natural, and down to earth, you can be assured that your body will reach its true potential.

 

One more thing, good thoughts and attitude will be needed for that too.
